RBC Heritage 2026: Favorites

Scottie Scheffler
Harbour Town rewards precision ball-striking and iron play over raw power, and Scheffler ranks among the best iron players in the world right now. Meanwhile, his ability to control trajectory and shape shots into small greens is a significant advantage on a course where position matters more than distance. Instead, with Sunday bringing 20 mph north winds and a 25% rain chance, Scheffler’s ball-striking stability under difficult conditions makes him the clear separation pick from the rest of the field.

Matt Fitzpatrick
Fitzpatrick’s game is built on accuracy off the tee and elite approach play, which is exactly the profile Harbour Town has historically rewarded. Most importantly, his consistent ball-striking and strong iron game allow him to attack tucked pins that punish players who miss in the wrong spots. The books are pricing him longer than the model suggests, making him one of the more compelling options near the top of the board this week.

Russell Henley
Henley’s ball-striking profile — particularly his approach play on tight, tree-lined layouts — translates well to what Harbour Town demands. Also, he has a track record of performing at courses that require precision over power, and Hilton Head fits that mold perfectly. Notably, with the field size limited to 82 players and the Saturday morning gusts reaching 24 mph, a clean, controlled game like Henley’s carries extra value.

Value Plays

Viktor Hovland
Hovland’s iron play and scrambling ability make him well-suited to a course that punishes misses but rewards steady, patient golf. The books have him priced meaningfully longer than the model suggests, which makes him one of the clearest overlays on the board this week.

Robert MacIntyre
MacIntyre is a left-to-right shot shape specialist who can maneuver the ball around a tight, demanding layout like Harbour Town. In addition, his model price sits well below where the books have him, and he has shown the kind of consistent ball control that scores well on par-71 designs.

Jacob Bridgeman
Bridgeman has shown flashes of sharp form and his approach game is strong enough to compete on a course that places a premium on hitting greens in regulation. Consider this: as a shorter-field event with a soft cut, there is more room for a streaky player to make a run through the weekend.

Sam Burns
Burns has a history of performing well on tight, demanding course setups where driving accuracy matters more than distance. As a result, he is a local favorite in this region of the country and tends to play with confidence at Harbour Town-style venues.

Min Woo Lee
Lee’s creativity and shot-making off the tee give him a real edge on a course that requires players to think their way around rather than overpower it. The books have him priced longer than the model, and a clean week with the irons could push him deep into contention.

Longshots

Alex Noren
Noren carries one of the strongest positive course history adjustments in the field, which means his past results at Harbour Town paint a more favorable picture than his current market price suggests. Even so, his precise, controlled style of play has always suited the demands of this layout, and a good week off the tee could put him in the mix come Sunday.

J.J. Spaun
Spaun is a streaky player who can run hot over a short stretch of holes, and the 82-player field at Harbour Town gives fringe contenders more runway than a typical full-field event. That matters because if he finds the putter early in the week, a course that allows steady ball-strikers to build momentum could set him up for a surprise charge.
