TPC Twin Cities emerged from design work by World Golf Hall of Fame member Arnold Palmer, who consulted with Minnesota native and PGA TOUR veteran Tom Lehman on the project. The venue ranks among 10 TPC locations featured on the 2026 PGA TOUR schedule: TPC Scottsdale, TPC Sawgrass (Stadium), TPC San Antonio (Oaks), TPC Louisiana, TPC Craig Ranch, TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley (North), TPC River Highlands, TPC Deere Run, TPC Twin Cities, and TPC Southwind.
Eight players in this week’s field competed in all seven previous editions of the 3M Open: Cam Davis, Tony Finau, Brice Garnett, Tom Hoge, Beau Hossler, Patton Kizzire, Peter Malnati, and Troy Merritt. Four past champions return to compete: Cameron Champ (2021), Tony Finau (2022), Lee Hodges (2023), and Kurt Kitayama (2025). The field includes three FedExCup champions: Scottie Scheffler (2024), Billy Horschel (2014), and Brandt Snedeker (2012).
Three players in the field finished in the top 10 at last week’s Open Championship: Scottie Scheffler (T4), Casey Jarvis (T6), and Rasmus Neergard-Petersen (T9). Seven competitors finished in the top 10 at last week’s Corales Puntacana Championship: Stefano Mazzoli (Won), Gordon Sargent (T2), Will Gordon (T4), Ben James (T4), Joe Highsmith (T6), Thørbjorn Olesen (T6), and Zach Bauchou (T9).
TPC Twin Cities conceded five rounds of 62 or better during the 2025 3M Open: Adam Svensson posted 60 in Round 1, Kurt Kitayama shot 60 in Round 3, Sam Stevens carded 62 in Round 1, Thørbjorn Olesen recorded 62 in Round 1, and Alex Noren shot 62 in Round 2. Just one round in the 80s was posted: Will Chandler’s 81 in Round 2. The 3M Open has yet to experience a multiple winner or a playoff.
Following the 3M Open, two events remain before the top 70 players in the FedExCup standings earn a spot in the FedExCup Playoffs: the Rocket Classic and Wyndham Championship. Scottie Scheffler holds a 737-point lead in the FedExCup standings, with 3,823 points, over Cameron Young’s 3,086 points.
Matt Fitzpatrick and Chris Gotterup lead the TOUR with three victories each this season. They join Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Ben Griffin as the only players to earn three or more victories in a season on TOUR since 2024. There have been 11 international winners on TOUR this season, combining for 13 wins.
Six first-time winners have emerged in the first 31 events on TOUR this season: Jacob Bridgeman (The Genesis Invitational), Ricky Castillo (Puerto Rico Open), Alex Fitzpatrick (Zurich Classic of New Orleans), Kristoffer Reitan (Truist Championship), Bud Cauley (RBC Canadian Open), and Stefano Mazzoli (Corales Puntacana Championship).
The 54-hole leader or co-leader has gone on to win 10 of 30 individual stroke-play events on TOUR this season. The 54-hole leader or co-leader has won the 3M Open four times across its seven editions.

Kurt Kitayama makes his third appearance at the 3M Open, having finished T6 in 2024 and winning in 2025. He claimed his second PGA TOUR title with victory at the 2025 3M Open. A career-low 60 in the third round highlighted his winning performance. Kitayama entered the week at No. 110 in the FedExCup and became the third consecutive 3M Open winner to begin the week outside the top 70 in the FedExCup, following Jhonattan Vegas (No. 147 in 2024) and Lee Hodges (No. 74 in 2023).
Across eight rounds at TPC Twin Cities, Kitayama compiled a cumulative 36-under score with rounds of 66-69-70-66-65-71-60-65. He arrived at the 3M Open coming off a T40 finish at The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.
This season, Kitayama has recorded four top-10s in 18 starts, all of which came in Signature Events or major championships. His finishes include T2 at The Genesis Invitational, T8 at RBC Heritage, T9 at Cadillac Championship, and T10 at the PGA Championship.
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler makes his first appearance at the 3M Open. This visit occurs one week after he attempted to defend his 2025 Open Championship title. Brooks Koepka, the last World No. 1 to compete in the 3M Open, finished 65th in 2019.
Scheffler is a 20-time PGA TOUR winner who has previously won once in a tournament debut on TOUR. That victory came at the 2025 Procore Championship. He currently leads the FedExCup and searches for a second victory of the season after winning The American Express.
Scheffler enters the week off a T4 finish at The Open Championship. This result marks his 10th top-five finish in 16 starts on TOUR this season. The most by any player, this total leads the next best: 7 top-five finishes by Matt Fitzpatrick.

Aaron Wise, the 2018 CJ CUP Byron Nelson winner, makes his 157th PGA TOUR start while seeking his second victory. The former University of Oregon golfer was named PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year in 2018.
After starting this season with six consecutive missed cuts, Wise finished T39 at the John Deere Classic, T3 at the ISCO Championship and T15 at the Corales Puntacana Championship in his last three starts. At one stroke off the lead, he played in the final pairing in the final round at the 2026 ISCO Championship, en route to a T3 finish. This marked his first time in the final pairing or grouping on the final day since the 2022 Memorial Tournament presented by Workday, where he finished solo 2nd.
Wise missed the cut with rounds of 69-72 in his only prior appearance at the 3M Open in 2020. His wife, Reagan, has been his caddie since returning to the TOUR after stepping away in 2023 to prioritize his mental health.
Ryder Cowan, a rising senior at University of Oklahoma, makes his second PGA TOUR start. He finished T23 at the 2026 U.S. Open.
Muzzy Donohue, a lefthander, won the 109th Minnesota State Open and makes his PGA TOUR debut. Sihan Sandhu, a UNC golfer, won the 2026 Augusta Haskins Award Invitational and makes his PGA TOUR debut.
Patrick Rodgers makes his 332nd PGA TOUR start, the most of any active player seeking their first victory. He owns four runner-up finishes among 31 top-10 results on TOUR. Rodgers makes his sixth 3M Open appearance, with T32 in 2020 his best result. Two players have earned their first PGA TOUR win at this event: Lee Hodges in 2023 and Matthew Wollf in 2019.

This marks the first time a player in the field via the DP World Tour went on to win.
