Patriots Riding Historic Nine-Game Win Streak Into Primetime

The New England Patriots own the NFL’s longest active winning streak at nine consecutive games. New England reached double-digit wins first among all teams this season. The Patriots defeated Cincinnati 26-20 in Week 12 behind another stellar performance from quarterback Drake Maye.

Maye completed 22 of 35 attempts for a career-high 294 yards and one touchdown against the Bengals. The second-year signal-caller has demonstrated remarkable consistency with 220-plus passing yards in 11 of 12 games this season, most in the NFL. At Gillette Stadium specifically, Maye has been exceptional, completing 71.7 percent of his passes for 1,580 yards with 12 total touchdowns and a 107.7 passer rating across six home starts.

Rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson provides balance to the Patriots attack. Henderson ranks third among rookies with 558 rush yards this season and has scored multiple touchdowns in two of his past three games. Wide receiver Stefon Diggs needs just two touchdown receptions to join elite company as the seventh player all-time with 900-plus catches, 11,000 receiving yards, and 75 touchdown receptions in his first 11 seasons.

New England’s defense has been suffocating during the win streak. The Patriots became the second team in NFL history to win nine consecutive games while scoring at least 23 points and allowing 23-or-fewer points in each contest, joining the 1961 Houston Oilers. Edge rushers Harold Landry and K’Lavon Chaisson each have 6.5 sacks to lead the pass rush. Cornerback Marcus Jones returned an interception for a touchdown last week and has three interceptions this season.

Giants Search for Answers Behind Quarterback Carousel

The New York Giants limp into Foxborough with a dismal 2-10 record after an overtime loss to Detroit. Veteran Jameis Winston made his second start of the season in Week 12 and delivered a historic performance despite the loss.

Winston passed for 366 yards, two touchdowns, and added a 33-yard touchdown reception, becoming just the second player ever (with Matt Ryan) to record 300-plus passing yards, two-plus touchdown passes, and a touchdown reception in a single game. The touchdown catch was the third-longest by a starting quarterback in the Super Bowl era.

Rookie Jaxson Dart returns from concussion protocol. Dart is the third rookie in NFL history with a touchdown pass and rushing touchdown in five games. He has thrown a touchdown pass in six of his past seven starts, showing promise for the future despite the team’s struggles.

Wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson has emerged as the Giants’ top weapon. Robinson led the team with a career-high 156 receiving yards and a touchdown catch last week. He has recorded 45-plus receiving yards in six of his past seven games. Running back Tyrone Tracy rushed for 62 yards against Detroit and provides a ground threat.

The defense offers a glimmer of hope. Edge rusher Brian Burns ranks second in the NFL with a career-high 13 sacks in 2025 and ranks third with 17 tackles for loss. Linebacker Bobby Okereke is tied for fourth in the NFL with 103 tackles. The Giants will need their defensive playmakers to disrupt Maye’s rhythm.

Injury Report:

Per the official NFL injury report, the Patriots list no significant injuries entering Monday night. New England enters fully healthy and well-rested. The Giants have several players listed as questionable, including defensive back Cordale Flott and offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor. New York’s injury situation could further hamper their chances against a surging Patriots squad.

Key Matchup: Brian Burns vs. Patriots Offensive Line

This game’s critical matchup pits Burns against New England’s offensive line. Burns leads the Giants with 13 sacks and 17 tackles for loss, terrorizing opposing quarterbacks all season. If Burns can generate consistent pressure on Maye, the Giants gain a fighting chance to keep this game competitive.

However, the Patriots’ offensive line has protected Maye effectively during the winning streak. New England ranks in the top 10 in sacks allowed and has given Maye clean pockets at home. Maye’s mobility also helps him escape pressure when it arrives. If the Patriots neutralize Burns with double teams and quick passes, New York’s upset hopes diminish significantly.

Weather Impact:

Monday night’s weather should not significantly impact the game. Temperatures near 38 degrees with clear skies and moderate winds of 8-12 mph are typical late November New England conditions. According to NFLWeather.com, these conditions favor neither team significantly. The Patriots play regularly in cold weather at Gillette Stadium and hold a distinct home-field advantage. The wind could affect longer field goal attempts but should not deter the passing games.

Betting Analysis:

The line opened at Patriots -3 and has moved dramatically to -7, per VegasInsider. Public betting percentages show approximately 72 percent on the Patriots after the line movement. The sharp action came early, pushing the line before casual bettors weighed in.

New England is 8-4 against the spread this season and 3-3 ATS at home. The Patriots are 5-3 ATS as favorites. The Giants are 7-5 ATS overall and 4-3 (0-7 SU) ATS on the road. The total opened at 45.5 and has dropped to 44.5, suggesting expectations of a defensive-oriented game or challenging offensive conditions.

Historical trends favor New England. The Patriots are 9-2 straight up on Monday Night Football at Gillette Stadium since 2015. The Giants are just 3-8 in their last 11 primetime games. The significant line movement from -3 to -7 tells the sharpest story—professional bettors believe New England wins by double digits. Crossing from -3 to -7 also eliminates the Giants covering with a field goal loss, making the Patriots more valuable.

Monday Night Spotlight:

This game features significant primetime storylines despite the Giants’ poor record. Maye aims to continue his impressive mvp-candidate campaign on the national stage. He can become the fourth player ever under age 24 with 10 games of 200-plus passing yards and a 100-plus passer rating. Diggs chases history with his pursuit of 75 career touchdown receptions in 11 seasons.

For the Giants, desperation sets in with playoff hopes long extinguished. Burns continues his excellent season and could reach 14 or 15 sacks with a strong performance. Monday night provides valuable evaluation opportunities despite the likely loss.

Prediction:

[High Confidence]

The Patriots win comfortably at home and cover the spread. The dramatic line movement from -3 to -7 signals that sharp bettors identified significant value on New England. Maye throws for 265-plus yards and two touchdowns while Henderson adds 85 scrimmage yards and a score.

The Patriots’ pass rush generates three sacks while Jones records his second consecutive interception. Winston or Dart struggles with decision-making under pressure, leading to turnovers at critical moments. Robinson has a solid game with 75 receiving yards, but the Giants cannot sustain drives consistently.

New England’s balanced attack controls possession for 34-plus minutes. The Patriots score on their opening drive and never trail. A late Giants touchdown makes the final margin closer than the game flow suggests, but New England’s superiority is evident throughout.

Patriots 27, Giants 17 (Patriots cover -7)

The seven-point spread appears fair given the line movement and talent disparity. New England’s home dominance and nine-game winning streak continue against an overmatched opponent. The Patriots’ defensive pressure and Maye’s efficiency prove decisive. New York shows fight but lacks the weapons to keep pace over four quarters.
